My background in visual arts started when I was a keyliner, typesetter and dark room technician for large and small design/print firms here in the Twin Cities. Since the craft of keylining no longer exists due to electronic desktop publishing such as PageMaker, Quark and InDesign, I’ll just plainly say: I’ve been at it for years!
I have always had a love of photography, but I began working more seriously in this medium during several years in the graphic arts industry. I honed my skills by photographing events such as weddings, gatherings, work events, etc., and giving the photographs as gifts. Many of the recipients liked my composition and storytelling ability better than the professional they had hired. This soon turned into offers to shoot weddings, graduations, and other special occasions.
At the same time, I began to shoot landscapes, nature, and wildlife, and my work has been used in calendars, post cards, and other media. These images are available for purchase also.
In 2008 I switched to digital photography, which allows me more freedom to experiment and provide images to my clients more economically. I am not a studio photographer. I shoot on location – wherever you choose. I offer reasonable prices and deliver your proofs and chosen photographs digitally through a password protected area of my website.
Please view my portfolio for samples of my work as a photographer. Soon, I will also be diaplaying works that have been digitally retouched with comparrisons of before/after. Please contact me without hesitation with any questions or requests -large or small.
Have a great day!
